COMMITMENT TO QUALITY
Ensuring Integrity from the Fields to Your Table
Royal Quinoa exported from Bolivia typically carries several high-level certifications that reflect its organic, ethical, and sustainable production. Here are the most common and important ones:
Organic Certification
- USDA Organic (USA)
- EU Organic (Europe)
- JAS Organic (Japan)
These certifications ensure that the quinoa is grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or GMOs, following organic farming practices.
Fair Trade Certification
- Often certified by Fairtrade International (FLO) or Fair for Life
- Guarantees fair wages, decent working conditions, and social development funds for smallholder farmers in the Andes.
Non-GMO Certification
Certifies that the product is free from genetically modified organisms.
Denomination of Origin (DO)
- Royal Quinoa (Quinua Real) has a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status in Bolivia.
- Ensures it comes specifically from the southern Bolivian Altiplano, mainly around Salar de Uyuni.
Environmental and Sustainability Certifications
Some exporters also pursue certifications like:
- Carbon-neutral or sustainable agriculture labels
- Rainforest Alliance (less common, but possible)
Quality and Safety Certifications
- HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)
- ISO 22000 (Food Safety Management System)
- Kosher and/or Halal, depending on the export market
